A combination of Beginner's and Intermediate classes. Classes are held at 2808 Elm Street, Los Angeles, CA 90065. The studio is open twenty four hours for you to practice. For the Beginner student, you'll start off learning the basics of pottery. You will learn how to wedge, center the clay on the pottery wheel and use hand techniques for making a bowl or a cylinder. On your second class, you will be trimming your pieces and preparing your pieces for a bisque firing. This is a process used to "cooking" your pieces. Once you have your pieces after the bisque fire, we will teach you the glazing techniques for your pieces. This is the color you choose for your bowl, cylinder, or whatever you wish your piece to be. On your fourth day of class, you will hand build using the slab roller and extruder to create other ceramic forms. For the Intermediate students, you will learn an advanced method of throwing larger bowls with more clay, a more in depth skill level in glazing techniques. You will get a better understanding of how to trim your pieces with an array of pottery tools. You can make teapots, coffee cups, faceted bowls, plates, large bottles, or whatever you wish to make and be really great at it!
Thank you and see you in the studio! ~ Jacqueline and Marshall
